NEW masterplanning prepared a masterplan, detailed layout and planning application for the delivery of 56 homes on the south eastern edge of Romsey on behalf of the Ashfield Estate and a consortium of developers. The design approach responded positively to the surrounding context, including the adjacent listed public house and boundary wall.
The scheme delivers a mix of family housing and apartments including much needed affordable homes for local residents. A green lane through the site creates a safe and pleasant route for school children walking to Mountbatten School and extensive landscaping and tree planting ensures a green and leafy development. The design team worked closely with existing local residents to ensure that a strong more secure green boundary to the backs and edges of residents abutting the site was also provided.
The development is now almost complete and forms a high quality gateway to Romsey creating a positive first impression for residents and visitors to the historic market town.
